Nature Walking Trail
A walking and jogging trail has been added to the Town-owned 15 acres, located on the west side of Palm Blvd. This is a project being funded with a $100,000 grant from Texas Parks and Wildlife that the CDC Board matched with $25,000. The total project amount is $125,000.
There are two entrances to this Trail Park, one on Palm Blvd and the other one on Palo Blanco. The Trail Park has three observation blinds along with three natural ponds. Please respect the quiet zones as you walk towards these observation blinds.
In July 2023 we applied for a donation to receive native plants from Garden for Wildlife by National Wildlife Federation.
The Garden for Wildlife program is an organization who, for every plant sold on their website, reserves one plant to be donated to a community garden or public space. You can see more information on their website: Plant Donations
In September 2023 we were notified that we have been approved for a medium garden (approx. 20x20 feet (400 sq ft) - 192 plants) donation – a value of $14,000.
Upon receipt of these plants, we partnered with the Texas Master Naturalists for planting and appropriate care and maintenance of this donation. In addition, weather permitting, the Texas Master Naturalists help clean and prune the Nature/Walking Trail.
If you are interested in getting involved in the care and maintenance of this beautiful amenity you can sign up here and start receiving updates from the LV Nature Trail team.
