Fire Department
The Laguna Vista Volunteer Department is rich in pride, professionalism, and tradition. Our members serve with dedication and the desire to provide the best in basic medical emergency care and fire suppression services. We work closely alongside our neighborly Fire and EMS departments and have worked hard to establish a great reputation with them as well-trained, competent and highly professional fire fighters and emergency medical responders.
In time of crisis, hopefully our citizens and visitors will find it refreshing to know that each of our members are highly trained in Fire Fighting. All of our members are also medically trained in Basic Life Support, NARCAN Administration, and Stop the Bleed.
In Laguna Vista, we are very fortunate to have such a committed group of volunteers who have kept a positive influence on the Town and the people we proudly serve. However, we are always looking for new volunteers to be part of our Volunteer Fire Department. We actively recruit self-motivated men and women with a drive to selflessly serve their community and who are willing to dedicate to Fire and EMS service, Fundraising, or Administration. If for any reason, you are unable to fulfill the requirement for responding for calls we also recruit Auxiliary Members to assist with Administration functions, and fundraising. Active Members receive a $20 reimbursement per call for their expenses. If you are interested in being part of our team, please contact Chief Robert Drapela at (956) 412-9089, or stop by for one of our Meeting/Drills Held every Thursday at 6pm.
The Fire Department has a volunteer firefighters association, Laguna Vista Fire & Rescue that is a 501c3. If you are interested in making a tax-deductible donation to this association, please call (956) 412-9089 or drop by the Fire Station. We truly appreciate your support.
